Home for the holidays is hosting and fires every night. It’s too many candles to count and buying the smallest silliest things for kids’ stockings. It’s baking and hot chocolate overflowing with marshmallows and gift exchanges with some of my favorite women in the world, sometimes with too much wine. It’s family recipes that we now have memorized and a real Christmas tree and its lingering smell. It’s twinkle lights and never remembering whose turn it is to put the star on top and holiday music… always music playing in every room and in every car and it’s magic and love, so much love.
